I can say is one of the most solid and aesthetic mobile devices that I had the opportunity to test: plastic and metal body are very well assembled , the control keys are located very good, connection interfaces also are well positioned. The phone measures 117.3 x 56.8 x 10.5 mm and weighs 130 grams. The front of the terminal is dominated by a 3.5-inch AMOLED touch screen and 640 x 360 pixels resolution. Like most touchscreens, also Nokia on C7 is fingerprint prone. Image quality is very good, and so the contrast in bright sunlight.
Control keys that are available to us are the following : call + center key to access the menu / task manager (located below the display), volume and voice dialing keys ( top, right side) and the dedicated camera button ( down, right side). To unlock the screen we have a slide button, it is positioned on the right side. Optionally, the unlocking can be done by pressing any key, then lightly touch the screen in the virtual button “Unlock”. No need to press, because the display is capacitive type – a simple touch is enough.
The access to the SIM card is fast, just by removing the back cover (no battery). SIM slot is positioned on the right side and the memmory card has to be inserted into the slot until the special clamping system confirms with a click.
The phone is equipped with two cameras, an 8 MP camera and for photos and videos, the secondary one , is a VGA camera dedicated video calls. The main camera is flanked by two powerful speakers, but the reproduced sound it’s not so good as we expected.
On the operating side, it has Symbian ^ 3 interface: three virtual screens customizable with widgets or groups of shortcuts (four per line), arranged in a vertical list that can accommodate up six elements. If you have less than six elements on the page, you can space them at will.
ARM 11 processor clocked at 680 MHz 256 MB RAM helped by the 3D video acceleration provides a nice flow while navigating through the menu or run applications. We tested the latest version of Angry Birds for Symbyab ^ 3 and we are very impressed by the results.
^ 3 Symbian has its own drawbacks, but in any case they are not related to multimedia applications. The audio player welcomes you with numerous options and settings (equalizer, podcast, FM transmitter, etc..) Playlists support – practically all you need a top player. And the sound quality is also good enough.
Video player it has already pre-installed codecs needed to play DivX, XviD and even 720p HD content. For the latter, there is a limit to 2 GB of files supported.
8 Megapixel camera doesn’t have autofocus, but despite this inconvenience the images have a remarkable quality.
Conclusion: Surprisingly or not, Nokia C7 is a great smartphone, as long as you do not mind the ^ 3 Symbian OS. From design and construction, the fine details (such as support USB On-the-go) and to aspects of daily use (audio / video calls), this terminal behaves decently and does not disappoint any Nokia lover or even a decent Smartphone User.
The price is around $450
